Over the past 2-3 months, I’ve decided to learn a new skill, During the lockdown, my mental health has been all over the place, from depression moments to feeling just down in general and just being quiet without telling anyone what’s going on, as it really bothered me.

Until someone told me about twitch, I had an account that was gathering dust and I thought it would be a perfect time to stream off my Xbox, the first community I found was a lovely lady playing animal crossing who is from Los Angeles (Don’t worry I’ll mention who it was later in this blog) and she made me very welcome and her community welcomed me in open arms which made me feel so much better, then I asked her community about streaming and she gave me loads of advice and support.

Then I started streaming my first game was call of duty and the community was there again to help me & guide me which was amazing after that stream I felt more confident and I thought let’s see if I can expand my community more, then I stumbled on a another streamer who is also from LA and started chatting as you do and her family community welcomed me into the community too which was amazing, the attention I got on twitch was just speechless I dint know what to say.

Then someone mentioned affiliate and I was like “how to I even get to that stage) although just saying that I already met half the criteria, all I need left was to up my viewer average and get 50 followers, easy? Nah, it took me sometime to gain what I needed but the twitch community was there to help me grow my channel until I streamed one other game, and my viewing average went through the roof, I had my first raid which bought viewers over and then it helped me hit my target, I then went back to the two community’s and said I did it and they just so happy for me. But there was loads of other community’s that helped me too. It made me happy and it helped my mental health at bay for now at least.

Now I stream when I can, I play a variety of games from COD warzone to Apex Legends just to name a few. If you want to see my schedule for the channel, please check out the twitch link and follow my discord server for all the updates.

You can also follow the community’s I highly recommend for you to follow:

Carrlyn (www.twitch.tv/carrlyn) - Carrlyn and her good friends community was the first twitch channel I actually watched and took part in, the community welcomed me in, I was gifted a sub by her little brother Jordan which made the experience even more amazing. And interesting. Carrlyn has been an amazing support network, I even surprised her with the 1000 follower which made her day and stream. Can’t thank the community enough for their support which is amazing.

Pam Bamgoinham (www.twitch.tv/pambamgoinham) - The Pamfam has also helped me so much through the rough times, just like Carrlyn’s community, Pam also welcomed me in with open arms. I recently opened up to Pam about my autism and my mental health and she totally understood what I said and took the time to even helped and motivate me to get where I want to be. If it wasn’t for Pam and her friends she introduced me on stream her mom, Pams friends, Ashley sanders and Ben Verlander I don’t know where I would be.

JT Chapperz (www.twitch.tv/JTChapperz) - I found JT on twitter and started watching his streams on twitch as an ex mixer streamer, I help grow his community and he helped me grow his, we streamed together which was awesome. And he’s like a twitch brother to me.
